THE PROCESS: PET SCULPTURES

Just send a few photos of your pet, tell me the size and pose you’d like, and I’ll respond with an estimate. After your deposit I create a preliminary sketch for your approval. Then I build the armature and mold by hand with polymer clay, including all the cherished details that make your pet unique. These are meticulous, fine art portraits and involve up to 200 solid work hours to create. Along the way I send photos or videos for your feedback. After your approval, your sculpture is baked to a hard finish, painted with an acrylic bronze patina or in full color, then sealed with a protective acrylic varnish. The process takes three to four months but rush projects are possible! Your remaining sum is paid on completion of my work.

Full body sculptures measure ~ 10” from nose to rump, up to life-size, and include full color acrylic painting and protective varnish. The 10” reclining poses start at $1700. The 10” seated poses with base and armature start at $2000. Optional bronzed patina finishes are $500 less.

Sculpted busts (head & neck only) measure ~ 4” x 4” x 3”. Life-size busts are also possible. Prices start at $700.

Specialty Bronze Cast and Outdoor Sculptures: Bronze, Aluminum or Cement-cast portraits can be commissioned for any size and can live outside or inside. These prices will also include estimated necessary fees for special moulds and metal casting from the foundry.

Packing/Shipping is not included.

PET PENCIL DRAWINGS, PASTEL DRAWINGS and ACRYLIC PAINTINGS

Send me a close-up of your pet’s face, a full body portrait, or a mix of both, and we’ll discuss your vision and estimate. After your deposit I’ll email a preliminary sketch for your approval.

I work with artist grade pencils and pigment light-fast oil pastels on 100% acid-free archival paper. Everything is by hand, I never photoshop photos to look like drawings. Subtle pastel textures lend my drawings a sculptural quality. I send pictures in progress to ensure your happiness. Pencil drawings take about two weeks, pastels and paintings take about three weeks from the approved preliminary sketch. Rushes are possible.

Single portraits measure about 7” x 9” on 9” x 12” paper.

Two or more pets in one portrait measure about 9” x 14” on 12” x 18” paper.

Black and White pastels or Pencil drawings start at $250. Color Pastels and Paintings start at $450.

Your piece is finished with a protective fixative. The portraits should be framed with an acid-free mat and covered with acrylic or glass.
